Meet the Owners

Derek Baker
Derek is the founder of The Hickory Handyman and is truly a "Jack of all trades". He started his working career as a mechanic and has always had work on the side. Whether it be mowing lawns, small home improvement jobs, or helping people with their vehicles, he has always been there to help. Seeing the needs of all the people around him, and no one seeming to have time to help, Derek decided to create The Hickory Handyman and jump full time into this line of work.

Michael Weber
Michael is the brother-in-law of Derek and always got dragged into the deep end with any of the bigger projects that needed done. Michael's father worked as a general contractor for many years, and started Michael's interest in the trades. With a bachelors degree in Finance and Banking, Michael is definitely some of the brains behind the operation, although he likes to make sure everyone knows he has the brawn too!
